Early this morning, Sault Police officers charged a 44-year-old woman with assault and criminal harassment after receiving a report of a disturbance.
A 911 caller reported a disturbance in the 0-100 block of Willowdale Street at 1:30 a.m.
“Officers were dispatched to the area, and through an investigation discovered the accused had threatened to assault the victim, who is known to them,” police said in a news release.
“Officers also learned the accused had confronted the victim a few days prior and had been told by officers not to communicate with the victim.”
Patricia Veaudry was arrested and is charged with assault and criminal harassment.
She was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
None of the allegations have been tested in court and Veaudry is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
