38-year-old faces numerous weapons charges after police called to Algoma Avenue

Police have arrested two people after officers responded to a call regarding someone entering a home in the 0-100 block of Algoma Avenue yesterday evening.

A news release issued today by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service states that 28-year-old Celeste Fleury-Vincent and 38-year-old Lloyd Hicks were discovered by responding officers inside the vacant residence at approximately 7 p.m.

Hicks was found in possession of a loaded .22 calibre rifle and two airsoft guns at the time of his arrest, police say.

He was held for bail court and stands charged with being unlawfully in a dwelling, careless storage of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, possession of a loaded firearm, and eight counts of possession of a firearm, prohibited weapon or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order.

Fleury-Vincent has a July 12 court date and stands charged with being unlawfully in a dwelling.
