37-year-old charged with break and enter on Queen Street

'An investigation revealed the accused had broken into a building and, when confronted by security, verbally threatened them'

On Wednesday, Sault Police officers charged a 37-year-old woman with break and enter and uttering threats. 

At around 9 p.m., a 911 caller reported an active break and enter in the 1300 block of Queen Street East. 

Upon arrival, officers found the woman in custody of security officers and they arrested her. 

“An investigation revealed the accused had broken into a building and, when confronted by security, verbally threatened them,” police said in a news release. 

Amanda Currie is charged with:

  • Break and Enter – Intent to Commit Indictable Offence
  • Uttering Threats to Cause Bodily Harm
  • Failure to Comply with Appearance Notice

Currie was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on March 3.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
