A verbal altercation on Friday night has led to multiple charges for a 33-year-old.

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service responded to a 911 call made around 8:30 p.m. reporting a verbal altercation in the 0-100 block of Edinburgh Street.

Officers tried to deescalate the situation when they arrived and police say the accused began yelling and throwing grass and "shrubbery" at the officers.

While the officers arrested the individual, the accused attempted to pull away and elbow them. While being taken from a cruiser at the Police Services Building, police say the accused tried to kick an officer and also kicked another officer in the side of the face.

As a result, Kattlin Boyer has been charged with

  • assault peace officer (x3)
  • resist peace officer

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court in October.
