On Monday, Sault Police officers charged a 30-year-old woman with possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking.
At around 2:30 p.m., a 911 caller reported an individual from a Crime Stoppers Wanted Wednesday post being seen in a business in the 0-100 block of Great Northern Road.
Officers found and arrested Nikki Mortimore.
"A search of the accused located one bullet, approximately 35.16 grams of suspected fentanyl, less than one gram of suspected cocaine, drug packaging materials, and approximately $1,000 in Canadian currency. The approximate street value of drugs seized is $5,374," police said in a release.
Mortimore is charged with:
- Possession of Schedule I Substance for Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Schedule I Substance
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – Under $5,000
- Failure to Comply with Release Order – Other Than to Attend Court
She was also wanted on warrants for the following offences:
- Failure to Attend Court After Having Appeared
- Failure to Comply with Release Order – Other Than to Attend Court
- Mischief – Under $5,000 x2
- Assault with a Weapon
- Causing a Disturbance
- Obstruct Peace Officer
- Failure to Attend for Fingerprints – As Per Undertaking
- Failure to Attend Court – As Per Undertaking
- Assault
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
None of the charges have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
