A 21-year-old man has been charged with impaired driving and other offences after striking a guardrail on McNabb Street at St. George’s Avenue East on April 7 around 11 p.m.

The investigation revealed that two people fled the area after the collision.

A short time later, police located two people matching the provided descriptions on Bruce Street. When speaking with the two, the officers developed grounds to believe that one of the individuals was driving the vehicle involved in the collision, and his ability to drive was impaired by alcohol, reads a release issued by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service.

As a result, Brian Glaves-Boissoneau, 21, is facing the following charges:

  • Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and/or Drug
  • Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80+)
