10-year-old badly hurt crossing Pine

Police are asking motorists and pedestrians to take extra precautions and to stay off roadways until conditions improve

Pedestrian struck by motor vehicle

On the 14th of December 2016 at 6 p.m. officers with the Traffic Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service responded to a Motor Vehicle Collision involving a pedestrian on Pine Street near Passmore Road.

A 10-year-old male pedestrian attempted to cross Pine Street from the West side to the East side and was struck by a motor vehicle that was travelling southbound. 

The pedestrian suffered significant non-life threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital by ambulance. 

The current winter storm has created difficult driving conditions. 

Motorists and pedestrians are reminded to take extra precautions while travelling and whenever possible stay off of the roadways until the conditions improve.
