Village Media team celebrates sponsorship with ARCH staff

You are destined to spot the Village Media/SooToday logo at some of your favourite community events each year. Whether it be Rotaryfest, Downtown Association block parties or ARCH’s Great Bucket List Cycle, Village Media supports dozens of non-profit organizations and fundraising events each year.

As our 10th-anniversary approaches in the fall, we are reflecting on a decade of building relationships in Sault Ste. Marie. Relationships with our readers, our advertisers, our community-at-large and certainly with the inspiring organizations working diligently to make our hometown a more inclusive, enjoyable, safe and thriving community.

To celebrate this upcoming milestone, we are excitedly renewing our commitment to strengthening our community with a number of inspiring new sponsorships and donations on the horizon.

The first announcement we are thrilled to make is that Village Media is pledging a $20,000 sponsorship/donation to ARCH Hospice, an incredibly deserving non-profit that provides the essential service of easing the burden of end-of-life journeys for individuals and their families in the Algoma region.

“Countless people in our community have had first-hand experience with our hospice and been moved by the quality, compassionate end-of-life care they provide. Village Media is honoured to do our part to support this worthwhile organization and the incredible service they offer our community,” said Jeff Elgie, CEO of Village Media.

“We are so grateful for our supporters, especially those who have been supporting us from the beginning like Village Media,” said Katherine Williamson, Fund Development Supervisor at ARCH Hospice.

“This contribution allows us to create memories and care for the hundreds of residents and family members we support each year.”

Support from the community is integral to the organization. As ARCH is only partially government-funded, the organization must raise a minimum of $850,000 to keep its doors open.

“Contributions from community partners allow ARCH to provide quality compassionate care to those requiring hospice care. In addition, ARCH Hospice provides grief & bereavement support to those requiring these services,” said Julie Premo, Manager of Training & Coordination at ARCH.
