Last year, SooToday hosted its third annual Community Builders Awards, a program which honours outstanding individuals and organizations who contribute positively to our city.

We are thrilled to officially open nominations again for this year's Community Builders Awards.

As steadfast champions of local, we strive to support and uplift our community and that most certainly includes the innovative, resilient and inspiring people who make Sault Ste. Marie so special.

The SooToday Community Builders Awards allow us to celebrate the many extraordinary individuals and groups working to build a better Sault Ste. Marie.

The awards will honour individuals and organizations in 10 categories, including Arts, Economic Development, Education, Environment, Hall of Fame, Health Care, Legacy, Sports and Recreation, Unsung Hero and Young Leader.

A full description of each category can be found here.

All Sault Ste. Marie and area residents, businesses and organizations are eligible for nomination.

We will recognize each of the winners with a feature article that honours their accomplishments.

Nominations are open now until Friday, July 26. You can learn more and nominate someone for the Community Builders Awards here.

A team of local judges will review the submissions once nominations close. We plan to start announcing the winners on Oct. 14.

We look forward to reading about the remarkable community members who have helped build Sault Ste. Marie into the special community we call home.

SooToday is proud to make a difference in our community by highlighting extraordinary individuals and organizations with our Community Builders Awards, a foundational piece of our SooToday Cares program

The SooToday Cares team's mission is to create meaningful change in Sault Ste. Marie - and inspire others to do the same.
