Update:
Minister of Colleges and Universities Ross Romano announced today the province's framework for reopening of post-secondary sector.
This applies to students who would have needed to attend class in-person in order to complete course requirements (ex: welding apprentices, PSW students, nursing students, engineering students, etc.). Romano described these students as 'academically stranded.'
Social distancing rules will still apply.
This program will begin as early as July 2 and will conclude by the end of September, allowing them to graduate closer to their original course completion date.
Original story:
Premier Doug Ford is slated to provide a COVID-19 announcement at Queen's Park at 1:30 p.m. today.
He will be joined by Health Minister Christine Elliot and Minister of Colleges and Universities Ross Romano.
This announcement comes one day after the province confirmed that all licensed day-care centres will be permitted to reopen in Ontario on Friday.
Village Media will carry the livestream, so stay tuned.
