Voters lined up to vote at Station Mall in advance polls on Feb. 26

Today is election day, and voters will be able to cast their ballots between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. when polls close.

Residents can cast their votes at the assigned voting location on their voter information cards, or look up their voting location on the Elections Ontario website.

In order to vote, residents must bring their ID.

As of noon on Feb. 26, close to 6,600 – or 10.7 per cent – of Sault Ste. Marie's 61,300 voters cast their ballots in advance polls.

There are plenty of candidates to choose from locally.

PC Leader Doug Ford chose Chris Scott, the first candidate who announced that he was running, without holding a local vote. Scott was announced as the PC candidate on Jan. 28.

Members of the NDP’s local riding association held a vote on Jan. 30 to choose Lisa Vezeau-Allen to be their candidate.

Gurwinder Dusanjh is the candidate for the Liberals.

Jaycob Jacques is running for the Green Party

Arnold Heino is running for the New Blue party.

And the Ontario Party candidate is Paul Frolich.

SooToday will have election coverage during the day and tonight.

Stay tuned!
