The Sault Downtown Association released the following statement in regards to the provincial election debate held last night.

On behalf of the Sault Downtown Association (SDA), we would like to thank all the party candidates that attended the election debate organized in collaboration with the Algoma University Students’ Union.

The purpose of the event was to educate students and the community on each of the candidate’s platform and the opportunity to ask questions.

For the purposes of transparency and answering to any misconceptions surrounding the invitations to the candidates, SDA staff contacted each campaign team through all communication channels available to the public to be invited to the event.

The SDA does not tolerate public accusations of underhanded actions against any of the candidates, board members, or organization surrounding the invitations.

The SDA wishes each candidate all the best in the election and look forward to working with the elected MPP.

SooToday has reached out to the SDA for more information.
