Election town hall in Thessalon today will address hospital services

Our local hospitals are at risk. Now, during the provincial election, is our best opportunity to win firm commitments to save our local hospitals: – to win stable and adequate funding to recruit and retain staff, keep our emergency departments open, and restore closed beds and services.

The Thessalon site of the North Shore Health Network has experienced the loss of in patient beds since the pandemic, and numerous recent emergency department closures. 

Join Mary Jane Thompson from Thessalon, Algoma Health Coalition co-chair Al Dupuis from Blind River, Ontario Health Coalition executive director Natalie Mehra, who has organized successful efforts to save hospital services across Ontario, and CUPE/OCHU President Michael Hurley whose members work in the hospital.

Free pizza and drinks will be provided.
