12:29 a.m. update:
Two people are dead and federal investigators are on their way to the scene of a plane crash this morning at Sanderson Field Municipal Airport, says Sault, Mich. Fire Chief Scott LaBonte.
LaBonte said emergency units were called to the municipal airport just after 10 a.m. He said the crash involves a small non-commercial aircraft.
"There were two individuals in the airplane. Both are deceased," said LaBonte. "We're working to make positive identifications."
Sault, Mich. police and firefighters remain at the scene of the crash. Officials from the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are enroute, said LaBonte.

EUP News is reporting, via its Facebook page, that a small airplane has crashed at the Sault Ste. Marie Municipal Airport in Sault, Michigan at about 10 a.m. today.
Sault Ste. Marie Police and Fire Services are on scene.
