1940 – 2024

Passed away peacefully with her husband and family by her side at home in St. Thomas, Ontario on Monday, April 29, 2024 in her 84th year.

Marg leaves behind a legacy of love and treasured memories with her devoted husband of 61 years, Wally, her son Ian McLeod (Kathy), her daughter Lori Mei (William) and her late son Glen (Brooke); her adored grandchildren, Emma, Hannah, Julian, Allison, Natalie and Morgan. Predeceased by her parents, James and Loretta Devlin. She was the youngest sister of the late Leo Devlin (late Helen), Rita Murphy (late Ed), late Frances O’Sullivan (late Dennis), late Teresa Reville (late Wilfred), late Mae Lukenda (late Lou), late Terry Devlin and Claire Cloutier (late Claude). Sister-in-law of Ross MacLeod (Shirley)(late Kay), and Marilyn Pasternak (late Tim). Marg will be fondly remembered by her 37 nieces and nephews.

Born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Marg embarked on a career in nursing that spanned 35 years. She was one of four sisters who graduated from St. Mary’s School of Nursing at the General Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie. She was an avid reader, superb navigator and was always able to share her expertise and common-sense advice to anyone who was lucky enough to have her as a friend. She cherished spending time with her loved ones. She rarely missed an opportunity to celebrate life's big moments with her family and friends.

Marg set out on a journey that saw her move to St. Thomas to be closer to her children and grandchildren. She would spend many winters in sunny Florida building happy memories with her husband Wally. She especially cherished the time spent with her close friends the late Barbara Hardcastle, Betty Goodall, Lynda Cote, Suzanne Moore and Gladys Walker. They will hold a special place, sharing countless laughs and adventures.

A special thank you to my big sisters Rita and Claire from their baby sister Mugs.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758).  Fond memories and expressions of sympathy for the McLeod family may be shared at www.northwoodfuneral.com
