Two potential COVID-19 exposures in Sault Ste. Marie, 25 new cases in Algoma

The Algoma region currently has 90 active cases and five hospitalizations

Algoma Public Health is reporting a pair of potential COVID-19 exposures in Sault Ste. Marie.

APH is advising anyone who was at the Rockstar Bar (864 Queen St. E) on Nov. 6 from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. of a potential low-risk exposure.

It is also advising that anyone who travelled on Porter Airlines flight PD 685 at 12:35 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31, 2021 from Toronto to Sault Ste. Marie of a potential low-risk exposure to COVID-19. Passengers who sat in rows 2-8 and flight crew who served these rows should contact their local public health unit for further information.

APH is also reporting 25 new COVID cases in the region, 24 in the Sault area and one from central and east Algoma.

Unknown exposure means the person did not have any recent international travel or close contact with a known confirmed case while close contact means the person was infected through close contact with a known confirmed case.

There are currently 90 active cases and five hospitalizations in the Algoma region as of early Thursday evening.

Regions in Algoma that have reported cases in the past two weeks include:

  • Sault Ste. Marie and area
  • North Algoma
  • Central and east Algoma
