Audrey saves the day at Hilton Beach (33 photos)

As hundreds of onlookers lined the streets of Hilton Beach last night awaiting the start of the annual Community Day Parade, things began to get ugly.

The crowd was restless.

They wanted to be entertained and they wanted it now.

Only one hero was brave enough to step up and quell the tension and avert a potential riot.

It wasn't Superman, Batman or even Spiderman (although Spidey did make a brief appearance in the parade).

Nope.

It was four-year-old Audrey Vair.

The fearless and cute-as-all-get-out young lass valiantly grabbed the mic and broke into a heart-wrenching rendition of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star to divert attention and save the day.

All right, maybe that was a bit of an exaggeration.

But the event was nonetheless extremely entertaining.

And cute.

And we at SooToday.com really enjoy cute.

The parade began right on cue and showcased mega-celebrities, including Jed Clampett and family, the Bearded Lady (and her daughter, who was sporting a five o'clock shadow of her own) and Dorothy and Toto.

And the aforementioned Spiderman.

Audrey might have a thing or two to teach old Spidey about what it means to be a real hero.
