NEW IN THE SOO: A unique boutique for expectant moms

Luke and Dell on Queen Street East addresses a gap in Sault Ste. Marie's downtown retail sector: maternity wear

Amy Holmberg's new business addresses a gap in our downtown retail sector: maternity wear.

"You can buy anything online," Holmberg says. "But to have a brick and mortar [store], to be able to touch and try things on, that's a big deal."

Luke and Dell, named after her late brother and mother, offers a selection of clothing items designed with childbirth in mind. From nursing bras to dresses and shirts, everything is made to accommodate pregnant bellies without sacrificing style.

"It's hard to find nice clothing when you're pregnant," Holmberg says. "Right from Sudbury  Wawa, White River, I'm getting calls asking what our hours are what we have in store [because] there's nothing."

Holmberg is hoping to change that from her 789 Queen Street East location.
