Pauline's Place presents Glambition, its first fundraiser since the onset of COVID.

Pauline’s Place is gearing up for an evening filled with entertainment and fun as Glambition makes its highly anticipated debut at the Bushplane Heritage Centre this Saturday.

From 6 to 10 p.m., attendees will enjoy a diverse lineup of entertainment including fashion shows, dance performances, stand-up comedy and live music. Several local vendors will also be on-site with food, drinks, and other refreshments.

Karam Singh, the fundraising manager with Pauline’s Place, has been involved with performance arts for years, and he’s thrilled to bring residents together for a meaningful cause.

“Celebrating cultures and the arts is what connects the community,” he says. “We’re really looking forward to it.”

Because of the pandemic, Glambition had faced several postponements before this Saturday’s date was finalized. Singh says not getting to host the event in 2021 was one of several blows Pauline’s Place had faced during COVID.

“With the pandemic, donations have gone down, and we haven’t been able to host any fundraisers,” he says. “We’ve seen more homelessness, and our capacity limits had to be lowered because of COVID. But we have a great team and we cheer each other up.”

Pauline’s Place is a non-profit which provides safe, affordable, and short-term housing for male youth ages 16-17, females 16 and above and families who are experiencing crisis and find themselves homeless.

All proceeds raised from Glambition will go towards Pauline’s Place so they can run additional programs, bring in more groceries, and hire more staff.

Tickets can be purchased online, or at the main entrance of the Bushplane on Saturday.

Singh encourages the public to get their tickets quickly as the event has a capacity of 300.
