The Sault Ste. Marie Festival of Beer returns to the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre on Saturday, May 6 to celebrate its 10th anniversary with the local craft beer community.
This year’s event will feature a variety of new participating breweries, including Good Lot, Whiskey Jack, Rainhard, Matron, Whiprsnapr, Local, Trestle, Dominion City and Founders Original.
Returning favourites include Sleeping Giant, Full Beard, Lake of the Woods, Kingsville, Tuque de Broue, Underground, 46 North, Gateway City, Crafty Elk, and Sault Ste. Marie’s own Northern Superior.
“Last year we didn’t know what to expect after the dust settled and everyone was just getting back into ‘normal’ routines,” said festival organizer, Stephen Alexander, in a news release. “This year our eyes are wide open to the potential growth of the festival and we are very excited about expanding what we can offer.”
The day will also include live music provided by local talent, Hollow Heads, The Wyld Stallyns and Bookclub.
Alexander, who owns and operates Loplops Lounge, said, “We are very excited to be bringing music back to the festival this year as we look to grow the festival and offer more to those attending. It has always been a big part of Loplops and our community, and we feel this is the next step.”
Tickets are $35 (plus fees) and my be purchased online.
