The Elliot Lake Bobcats ended a very tough weekend in the Greater Metro Jr. "A" Hockey League with a 1-1-1 record.
On Friday night in Deseronto, the Bobcats lost 5-4 in OT to the Deseronto Storm. Matt Rogers and Tom Rush both scored for the Bobcats.
On Saturday night in Toronto, the Bobcats jumped all over the Toronto Canada Moose by the score of 8-3. Patrick Mirga had two goals and an assist and Matt Rogers had a goal and two assists for the Bobcats.
On Sunday afternoon in Bradford, the Bobcats ran out of gas and lost to maybe the best team right now in the GMHL. The Bobcats lost 9-4 to the Bradford Rattlers. League leading scorer Artem Podshendyalov of the Rattlers had three goals and two assists. Mario Dojcar had a goal for the Bobcats.
The Bobcats record is now 13 wins, three losses and two overtime losses. They are still first in the 12-team GMHL but the Bradford Rattlers are only two points behind them with four games in hand.
Next action for the Bobcats is Friday night in Elliot Lake when they host the Toronto Canada Moose at 7:30 p.m.
