After dominating most of the game, the Soo Greyhounds survived a late game scare.

In the end, the Hounds held on for a 3-2 victory over the Sudbury Wolves on Wednesday night at the Essar Centre.

With under five minutes to play and leading 3-1, the Hounds handed the Wolves a five-on-three power play opportunity.

The Wolves quickly converted and continued to pressure the Hounds, who held off the charge until the final buzzer.

T.J. Battani, who was outstanding on the penalty kill, Brett Thompson and Jake Muzzin scored for the Greyhounds. Nick Cousins picked up a pair of assists.

Daniel Lombari, who also picked up an assist and was easily Sudbury's best player, along with John McFarland replied for the Wolves.

Robin Lehner picked up the win, stopping 20 shots. The Hounds peppered the Wolves Alain Valiquette with 37 shots.

The Hounds continue their three-game homestand trip on Friday as the Windsor Spitfires visit the Essar Centre for a 7:35 p.m. start.
