Green Circle Atom Hounds go 1-2 in Kitchener

The Green Circle Soo Jr. Greyhounds Atom AA team returned from their first major tournament in Kitchener this weekend with one win and two losses.

In the first game, Green Circle was defeated 6-2 against the London Jr. Knights. Darrell Baker and Spencer Dupuis scored for the Soo with assists awarded to Liam Brescacin, Nolan Makkonen and Daniel Mills.

The team’s second game against the Oakville Rangers saw defeat for the Sault in a 4-1 hard-fought game. Mills was the lone scorer for Green Circle, assisted by Joshua Rouleau and Makkonen.

In third game action, Green Circle beat the Wheatfield Blades 7-0. Mills lead the scoring with a hat-trick, Baker scored two and single goals by Holden Brock and Keegan Stevenson. Goalies Joseph Caruso and Matthew Reid shared the shutout.

The team returns to action this weekend when they host Traverse City for a two-game stint.
