Arson charges laid in Laird Raceway fire investigation

Two males arrested in connection with arson at Laird Raceway

Arrest warrant issued for third person involved

LAIRD TWP, ON – OPP Sault Ste. Marie have arrested and charged two males in connection to the fire at Laird Raceway that occurred on January 21.

OPP arrested and charged one 17-year-old male from Sault Ste. Marie with two counts of break and enter and one count of arson.

The accused is to appear in youth court on March 2.

Also arrested and charged is 20-year-old Joshua Bougie of 95 Goulais Avenue in Sault Ste. Marie.

Bougie is charged with two counts of break and enter and one count of arson.

Bougie is to appear in court on March 1.

An arrest warrant has been issued for 20-year-old Matthew Joseph Evans of Echo Bay.

Evans is wanted on two counts of break and enter and one count of arson.
