FRIDAY NOVEMBER 6, 2009

The Black Box Theatre Company season opens with an evening of stories and improv comedy at 7 p.m. in Room 262 of LSSU's Arts Center. Admission at the door is $5 for students, and $10 for the general public.

Movies @ the Soo Theatre will screen Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1953) at 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. at the Soo Theatre in downtown Sault Michigan. Admission is $5.

Paper Lions with special guests Goodluck Assembly play Loplops Gallery-Lounge, 651 Queen Street East, starting at 10 p.m.

The Suspects play the Algonquin Hotel, 864 Queen Street East (downstairs), from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.

SATURDAY NOVEMBER 7, 2009

Cross Country Ski Swap presented at the Westminster Memorial Hall (134 Brock Street) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. by the Soo Finnish Nordic Ski Club features new and used ski equipment and clothing. For more information, call Vera McCron at (705) 949-7142.

Galaxy Cinemas presents live from the Metropolitan Opera, Puccini's Turandot at 1 p.m. Tickets available at the Galaxy Box Office.

Murder at the Kewadin Casino: Enjoy dinner in the Dream Maker's Theater and help solve the "who-done-it" presented by the Chippewa Theater Guild. Event begins at 5 p.m. and will raise money for the local mediation center, the EUP Community Dispute Resolution Center which services Chippewa, Luce and Mackinac counties.
