Two charged after break and enter

Break and enter in progress - suspects arrested

LYE TWP, ON - On October 31, 2009, at approximately 9:50 a.m., Sault Ste. Marie OPP officers were advised of a break and enter in progress in the 1700 block of Blue Water Road in Lye Township.

An area resident at the scene advised that a black pickup truck with no licence plates and covered in mud was fleeing the scene heading north.

OPP attended the scene and observed that entry had been made to the residence by prying an east-facing wood door.

Some clothing items were reported missing.

The residence appeared to have been occupied overnight.

Further investigation led to the arrest of the following suspects:

1) David Gingras, 35 years-old, of 2122 Mission Road on the Batchewana First Nation.

Gingras was held for a bail hearing today on charges of break, enter and theft, possession of property obtained by crime, driver motor vehicle with no insurance.

2) Wesley Brooke, 19 years-old, of 2122 Mission Road on the Batchewana First Nation.

Brooke was arrested and charged with break, enter and theft and was released on a promise to appear for court on December 14, 2009.
