I wrote this article last year, but I feel it bears repeating today on Canada's birthday, as one dyed in the wool Canadian that feels blessed to have been born in this Country.
We live in a spectacular, breathtakingly beautiful, peaceful land where one can freely go about their lives.
Canadians are recognized worldwide as a peace loving, tolerant and polite nation of individuals who’s very right to be an individual is protected in our Canadian Constitution Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
Unfortunately, not every human being is as lucky as a Canadian.
Billions of people around the world suffer unimaginable hardship every day that will never have the opportunities and freedoms we Canadians often just take for granted.
Let’s take a few moments to think about that today.
Please share your thoughts with other readers here as you reflect on these two questions:
1. What does it mean to you to be Canadian?
2. What are some of your very favourite things about Canada?
Thank you fellow Canadian, I look forward to reading what YOU have to say.
Katherine
