One person is facing charges after an incident last month.

On April 2, a call came into 911 reporting someone brandishing weapons in the 100 block of Gore Street.

“Although the accused had left prior to officers’ arrival, an investigation revealed the accused had brandished bear spray and made slashing motions with a knife toward a victim when they were asked to leave the victim’s property,” Sault Police said in a news release.

“As the accused was leaving, they verbally threatened to damage the victim’s property.”

Police obtained a warrant for their arrest.

Yesterday, while patrolling the area of Wellington Street East at Hughes Street, officers spotted the accused.

Police say the suspect tried to run away but was quickly arrested.

Brent Boissoneau-Stone, 26, has now been charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon (two counts)
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Uttering threats
  • Failure to comply with a probation order (four counts)

None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
