UPDATE: Police clear scene at Boundary Road home where two people died

'Forensic analysis is ongoing': Detectives continue to investigate what happened Wednesday afternoon at east-end home owned by an elderly couple

Sault Police have finished processing the scene at a Boundary Road home where two people were found dead Wednesday afternoon.

“Officers are no longer on scene,” says a brief statement issued Friday by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service. “Forensic analysis is ongoing to determine the cause and manner of death of both deceased people.”

Officers were initially called to the home in the 500 block of Boundary Road at approximately 12:30 p.m. on May 1.

They found one person dead inside a vehicle. In the house, another person was found deceased.

Police believe that whatever happened was an isolated incident, and have confirmed the two people were known to each other.

On Thursday, detectives executed a search warrant at the east-end property.

“Detectives continue to investigate the incident,” says Friday’s news release.

Land registry records retrieved by SooToday show the home was owned by the same couple since 1956.
