Sault Police have arrested a man in connection with a violent assault last month that sent the victim to hospital.

At around 6:30 p.m. on April 25, someone phoned 911 to report an assault at a business in the 600 block of Great Northern Road.

Police say a person was “physically attacked by someone unknown to them” and “sustained serious physical injuries.”

The victim was rushed to hospital before the officer arrived.

An investigation identified a suspect and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

It turned out he was already in custody after being arrested by the Anishinabek Police Service on an unrelated warrant.

Sault Police attended the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre on May 7 and re-arrested the suspect.

Reno White, 22, is charged with aggravated assault and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
