OPP arrest 89-year-old northerner for impaired driving

Nipissing West OPP have charged an 89-year-old man with impaired driving after a traffic stop late Tuesday night.

Police conducted a traffic stop on Levesque Street, West Nipissing, shortly before midnight.

The driver was arrested and  taken to the OPP detachment for further testing.

Armand Breault, 89, from West Nipissing is charged with operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) and operation while impaired.

Breault was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on June 6 in North Bay.

He was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension and had his vehicle impounded for seven days.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and Breault is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
