A 32-year-old was arrested Saturday afternoon for allegedly breaking into a vacant home in Jamestown.

At around 2:15 p.m. on April 20, someone phoned 911 to report a break and enter in progress at a residence in the 0-100 block of George Street.

Officers dispatched to the area saw a suspect leaving the property. When they tried to speak to him, he ran away, police say.

“Officers caught up to the accused, and they were arrested,” says a news release issued today by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service. “Investigation revealed the accused had broken into the garage and residence.”

Jordan Wagner is charged with one count of break and enter. He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled back in court on June 17.

The allegation has not been tested in court and Wagner is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
